Me in 2011. The beard was shaven off the night of Thanksgiving 2010 after 16+ years as it was getting too scraggly. I grew it because when my kids were little, they saw me shaving one day and asked me why I didn't let my beard grow. I told them, "Make me a grandfather and I will', as I felt that every wee grandchild should have a grandfather's beard to tug on. In January 1994, my son and his wife had Aonghus; I promptly stopped shaving and switched from horn-rim glasses to more grandfatherly ones. The bump on my forehead is an extra memory chip.
