SCENES FROM THE HOOD

The unforgettable Tin Man at his new location at 71-07 Woodside Avenue, and a 1929 ad from the Queens Daily Star. CAME BACK IN MAY 2018 AND TIN MAN WAS GONE
Since this photo was taken, the R in "EARLE" was replaced by a G. Long gone are the double features, cartoons and serials, but some of my popcorn is probably still on the floor, and lots of my gum under the seats.
A site that should be familiar to anyone who lived above 73rd Street (except for the late-model car)

Dear Steph, I'm sure gals in my year recall. I've added a photo of them in shop. Go to "Good Old Days" then "Class Photos" & scroll. Are you related to Joan?

Does anyone remember when the girls had to take shop in Grade 7 and the boys had to take cooking? And...the girls had to hand-sew their own graduation dresses!
